Pros

I have been at RV for almost 5 years. My favorite thing about RV is how invested leadership is in developing the employees and that they're really focused on learning. The idea of getting better every day is key to the culture. You grow a ton by being around smart people, hearing different perspectives and tackling different problems. There are tons of different role opportunities and industries keep things interesting and fresh (you never get bored). RV also fosters a strong team atmosphere and environment, which can make it feel like a smaller company than it is.

Cons

It's not for everyone -- it's the kind of place where some people thrive if they enjoy a challenge, they like that things can change quickly, that they get lots of feedback and are pushed to be the best version of themselves. Every role is different, but generally not for someone who wants to coast/work 9-5/have a very predictable role. RV sets a high bar and wants you to meet it. Typically people who are hungry for opportunity do the best. RV has grown very quickly, particularly across multiple locations. The teams are figuring out how to avoid 'big company problems' and balancing the resources of a big company (and trying to avoid 'big company politics') with wanting the agility of a small company. Because it's grown so quickly, there can feel like an "in crowd" that can be hard to break into.

Pros

- some teams have good cohesion - they're desperate to hire engineers, so may be a good job if you're just starting your career

Cons

- I worked at their CreditCards.com office that they acquired in Austin Tx. It was a great place to work before they were acquired. It went downhill after that - Compensation is poor. Most places in Austin offered me 10-15k more. Bonus plan sucks and no equity - If you're not in NC it's hard to progress or shine in the company. It's especially harder to be hired or move into management level positions if you don't live or are willing to move to NC

Pros

Cool campus, gym and basketball court

Cons

Poor leadership, no real coaching. senior designers and directors just take work they dont like and finish it themselves, no real teaching younger designers. Most of the work is production, very few real design opportunities.
