      Great first job, limited advancement and pay opportunities.

      Pros

      I worked for Regal for 5.5 years, 1.5 as floor staff and 4 as an associate manager. Those that stayed in the company for the long haul have the opportunity to become a general manager or district manager, but general managers often have to apply for theatres that are in undesirable areas and move around to larger and larger theatres to get to the place that they want to be, but once hired as a General Manager it takes an act of god to remove you from your position. The company knows each theatre has its own culture and systems in place, and as long as there is nothing illegal or suspicious going on, they stay away from saying "policy this policy that".

      Cons

      The industry pretty much stays the same no matter the economic climate. For those that are only working part time, expect low hours and pay. This is not a full time job, and they don't claim to be. It can be a great place to work if you absolutely LOVE the industry as I did, but associate/assistant manager should expect around 30 hours a week or less, and less than $11 an hour. They will fight for their General Managers and Full time associate and assistant managers, but ignore the needs of their part time associate managers.
