Pros

It is a large organization that promotes from within, allowing for excellent opputunities for advancement. Regions has excellent market share in my area and this gives the bank a dominating presents when competing for new business.

Cons

The management structure is a matrix managment style that can create confusion over who your boss is.

Declining workplace with low morale and broken promises

Pros

Good insurance, some nice people

Cons

Used to be a good place to work. They took away everything good and made it bad. Hired some horrible people who had no right to be a manager. Low morale. HR was ridiculous and pointless, never helped the employee. Made new rules and unrealistic expectations. Took away the good college reimbursement, replaced it with a dumb one and then suddenly shut it off for a few years. Very low commissions, if any. Gave the best salaries to brand new hires but people that were there for years and years were not given the same salary for the exact same job. They used to promote from within but stopped. No female leadership - laid off most of them. A lot of turnover. Made a lot of false promises. Antiquated ideas and values. If you had a good idea, they would listen but not implement it until a few years later when suddenly it was their idea. Now they keep lowering salaries while C-Suite is flying in their private jet. I wouldn't be surprised if this particular division is gone in a few years.

Pros

1.) Good entry to banking industry. 2.) You will spend most of your time in trainings. 3.) Good future opps in banking industry because people know how hard you have to work here.

Cons

1.) Racist and toxic leaders (depending on your area). 2.) Will spend more time on the phone than with customers. 3.) EVERYTHING is scripted. There is a script for phone calls, a script for AM/PM huddles, a script for one-on-one coaching conversations. Nothing is genuine or from the heart at all. 4.) You will be expected to product push while calling it "needs-based conversations." You will be handed a stack of credit card brochures and told how many to give out that day whether the customer asks for it or not. 5.) Saturday Banking
