Pros

I believe in the mission of the company as does the Senior Management. They believe empowering teachers is the key to student success which is why they do what they do. We are not hear to replace a teacher but to empower a teacher.

Cons

Lots of management changes which brings a minimal amount of uncertainty.

A great place to work, but becoming very "corporate"

Pros

Overall, a very nice place to be employed. The employees are topnotch, intelligent, and hardworking. The work that the company does is highly commendable, and I am generally very proud to tell people that I work here. The benefits are good, management is approachable, but very busy, and work schedules are flexible including enabling most of us to do some or all work from home.

Cons

Pay scales are way off in some areas. While a seemingly endless number of Chief-(fill in the blank)-Officers are hired from outside firms, and software engineers are lured in at high salaries, lower level employees work for less than the going rate and are given yearly, minute raises, if any. In my position, I make over 15% less than what the market dictates. I've seen it before, and it's a wonderful family-owned company that has been bought out by a big investment firm, and the bottom line is profitability. We've seen department budgets decrease as the company excels. Also, in certain positions, there is no opportunity whatsoever to advance. Jack Lynch was a great CEO and is a loss to the company.

Thank you for taking time to write your review. I’m happy to read that you’re proud to say you work at Renaissance. I also appreciate your comments on compensation and career advancement. We are always monitoring market-compensation to ensure we’re competitive and we’ll continue to do so. Soon we will be introducing Career Pathways, a program will help provide employees with a better understanding of both their overall career path and the opportunities available within Renaissance. You can expect to hear more about this in the near future. Thanks again for writing. – Kim Mitchell, Chief People Officer

Pros

The teamwork everyone puts into supporting the overall business objectives is amazing. True collaboration and willingness to all work together cross-departmentally. I love that Renaissance takes employees professional development seriously. I've never been at a company that not only encourages but requires you to take the time to develop skills that YOU feel are necessary for your growth and development.

Cons

There are a lot of processes for everything. This can be considered a con when considering the time it takes to complete something internally, but we are a data company that needs to capture this information to better inform decisions in the future.
