Pros

Good place to get experience Great coworkers

Cons

Too many overpaid executives for a “nonprofit” who did not take paycuts during the Covid pandemic yet gave them to all frontline healthcare workers Shady business practices - clauses in policies designed to allow them to change provider compensation with NO notice Very punitive culture for all employees. No employee satisfaction at any level with the MAs up to providers. Massive provider exodus due to unethical business practices. Intentionally unclear compensation policies

Pros

Amazing coworkers, great experience, diverse clientele.

Cons

the disconnect between management/administration and the front line staff is enormous. Staff is not supported by management. It is made very clear they care about recruitment not retention. In theory there should be very little turnover however due to mismanagement and no regard for staffing satisfaction there is revolving door of employees.

Pros

Cannot think of one thing

Cons

This is easily the worst hospital in the Reno area to work for. A constant toxic work environment, I’m surprised I made it as long as I did! Do yourself a favor and avoid this hospital at all costs! The majority of renown’s nursing management does not want to be questioned. What they say goes and if they decide they don’t like you, you will be a target. Going to HR or the director of your floor will NOT help you. Instead you will be retaliated against and made to feel like you cannot speak up. The managers will do absolutely anything to make you feel as if you have no one to help you. They constantly berate you and speak negatively about you to your coworkers. They play favorites and encourage bullying. The management will make you feel as unwanted and unwelcome as possible. They will harass you to try to break you down, if that doesn’t work they will lie to upper management to make you seem like you are the worst employee. They will try anything possible in an attempt to put your nursing license at risk. Don’t let them fool you. Ask anyone who worked for Renown how they were treated, and what they have witnessed when they were an employee there. The best day I had there was the day I quit!
