Poor upper management

Pros

Amazingly collegial interaction between physicians

Cons

What is happening at renown? This administration/upper management runs this place like a dictatorship. This is not longer a community hospital overseen by local governance. It is run by out of state administrators who have no concept of the patient population and the generational component of both the patients and providers who live here. Now all we see are continual contract changes that either promise the world or threaten to cut income by 50%, retaliatory "releases" of respected specialists who helped build programs, and the attempted replacement of experienced physicians with ties to the area with locums who have no skin in the game.

Pros

Good benefits, 401K plan, lots of ways to get involved.

Cons

Where do I begin? First of all, this place is smoke and mirrors. Why? Because they don’t act like the kind people they advertise themselves to be, especially as far as the company culture and such. The things that I only imagined in my worst nightmares coworkers did here and the management allowed it and encouraged it. It is filled with game playing and if you don’t play their games they will make your life terrible. I wish I had stayed far away from Renown. If I had been given a chance to go back, I would have never worked here. They treat people like dirt who work hard for them.

Terrible company

Pros

It's difficult to determine any.

Cons

There could not be a bigger disconnect between what Renown says and does regarding employees. Administrators are clueless about what employees actually do, and the internal process are driven by personality. So are internal transfers and promotions; they are popularity contests. Turnover is high, and it's a constant struggle to determine who might lop off your head on any given day. There is no open door policy; retaliation is open, and it's full of cliques.
