Pros

Hybrid option, work on site 4 days a week, wfh Fridays. All the snacks and beverages you can imagine for free. Lavish parties with open bar and catering.

Cons

The company's communication practices could benefit from improvement. There were frequent changes without clear notifications, expecting employees to be aware by default. The company does not celebrate diversity, in spite of what they might post on LinkedIn. Proof of this was in the way they displayed selectiveness in their celebratory events, organizing elaborate parties for occasions like St. Patrick's Day and fictional Star Wars holidays while neglecting to acknowledge significant events such as Black History Month, Juneteenth, or Pride Month. Curiously, Valentine's Day received month-long recognition. The company made abrupt decisions to lay off 30 employees without any prior warning. Coincidentally, they promoted three individuals on the same day. The absence of background checks during the hiring process might have led to the presence of individuals with questionable backgrounds within the organization. Regrettably, the CEO and VP of People seem to prioritize sharing superficial think pieces on LinkedIn over proactively fostering safe and diverse work environments in the company. POC intern experienced racial micro-aggressions from their leader (one of whom is still employed) and was gaslighted when they tried to speak up about their experience.

Pros

Decent office perks, snacks, occasional staff lunches and happy hours, but it stops there.

Cons

If you're considering this company, and you are an experienced professional, you might find a few issues here. They operate by trial and error and are very quick to lay off staff in the process. Something I was warned about by a now former employee, when I started. They learn what they can out of you, then dismiss you if they find out something that didn't quite come out as their guessing brains expected. Don't expect any training. Some leaders are expected to perform only based on experience in other fields, with very little insight on how to thrive in the home renovation business. Maybe they would tell if they knew, but it's not the case there. They are out there looking to hire top-talent, (I can tell they asked people to write reviews here) but the reality is that they can't handle top-talent. I work with some of the smartest and knowledgeable people I ever did, and I can tell that the leadership doesn't know how to get the most out of them. Highly praised employees are leaving the company because they see the red flags. The constant talk about the company being sold or partnering with a new PE translates into a feel of uncertainty. Which, it would not be an issue if they had loyalty to employees and a part of their culture. Let's not even go there, by the way. It's another butt-covering measure. Here's an example. They started a new mental health/wellness program a few months back. They made it mandatory for you to participate. A superficial strategy, but okay if it actually ends up helping someone. But a few weeks back, all of a sudden without any warning, they lay off about 30 people in one day, because of some so-called change in direction, automatically labeling their highly experienced hires undrainable. Not sure if they extended the mental health coverage to those unfortunate folks… they would probably tell Renuity to shove it. To wrap this up, if you're into gambling with your career, give them a shot. It might work for interns or innocent souls that still get impressed by a nice office. But once they discover that there's no long term loyalty, they might be on their way to another job, or find out the hard way it was a bad choice.

We greatly appreciate your review and the time you took to provide us with feedback. Your input is extremely important to us as we strive for positive change. As our company has experienced significant growth, we recognize that there have been some challenges along the way. We are committed to improving our processes and providing better training for our employees. We understand your concerns about the lack of adequate training. While we work on formalizing all training programs, we encourage you to reach out to the appropriate channels for additional support. We would love your help in assisting us to being part of the change you want to see. We aim to ensure that all employees have the resources they need to succeed in their roles. The new framework will serve as an internal compass, guiding our decision-making and enabling us to gather valuable input from employees like yourself. We will carefully assess any proposals or ideas that align with our goals. We understand that change takes time, but we are confident that with the launch of the new framework for change, we are moving in the right direction. Your feedback is crucial (and appreciated) as we strive for stability and clarity while also prioritizing the needs of our employees. Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We truly value your dedication and contributions to our company, and we hope to demonstrate the positive impact of our efforts as you continue to grow with us.
