      Pros

      We typically work 8-5 Monday through Friday, though sometimes we work a weekend. They typically hire students directly out of college, so the compensation is competitive for new graduates compared to other entry level positions.

      Cons

      Poor management skills. Right now there are managers who are left over from the era where you were promoted into management based on years of service. Because of this, my manager has several bad habits such as asking interview questions that shouldn't be asked. Every office is different, though.

      Certainly, the managerial styles of different individuals will vary. Republic Finance prides itself on providing a work environment that is free from unlawful harassment. Any concerns about a particular manager should be reported to executive management in the corporate office or human resources. Several different methods are offered to report any inappropriate behavior or activities, or to report a need for improvement, for investigation and resolution. Republic’s training program is highly successful. Training is monitored for proper delivery and completion, and any branch specific deficiencies should be reported to senior management for resolution.

      Pros

      Competitive pay, good work environment, the system is easy to understand, opportunity for advancement.

      Cons

      If you do not like collections this is not the place for you. There can be some long hours involved.

      Republic Finance appreciates your feedback. Collection calls are a requirement for all positions in the branch offices and are a normal part of the lending business. There may be instances where employees are asked to work beyond regular business hours in order to achieve branch goals, which are reasonable and attainable, or to complete services for a customer.

Individual promotion opportunities are affected by employee performance, geographic preference, and branch expansion, among other things. Goals for employees are established based on previous branch results, an employee’s past performance, and a number of other factors. The goals have proven to be attainable as demonstrated by the number of employees who have reached or exceeded their goals.
