Pros

Some great team members who were a joy to work with

Cons

A clear example of a company that raised in the COVID boom and didn't effectively manage resources. Mandatory office days because they got an office and needed to justify forcing people to come in. Lots of perks weren't what they advertised.

Dear Former ResQer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Firstly, we are delighted to hear that you had positive experiences with our team members. Our team is our greatest asset, and we strive to foster a supportive and enjoyable work environment for everyone. As a company that built and grew during COVID, we have been diligent in managing our resources responsibly including having significant runway ahead of us. Financial prudence is a cornerstone of our operations, and we have taken deliberate steps to ensure that we are financially secure and poised for long-term success. As you are aware, we foster an office-first environment. This expectation is set with all new employees. We believe this enables purpose, through presence and proximity. It is not simply to improve productivity. The additive effect of people building personal bonds, innovating together, collaborating cross-functionally, and learning and doing things together is, at least for us, much harder to replicate to its fullest extent remotely. To this extent, we always preserved our office space, including during COVID, and have renewed our lease multiple times since then. Regarding our perks,, we assure you that all perks are as advertised. As our Company grows, like with any good business, we have had to adapt and made some adjustments that are necessary for a company our stage. Furthermore, we have recently invested significantly in our product development efforts, including hiring a seasoned Head of Product. Their expertise will play a pivotal role in guiding our product development efforts and enhancing our offerings to better meet the needs of our customers. Thank you again for taking the time to voice your concerns.

Pros

Nice office, 4 day work week, decent starting salary

Cons

The training for. The CSR’s was absolutely wild. For a company with intricate processes, the training should have been more extensive. For the first few weeks I literally did not understand what my function was because it was so poorly demonstrated. I have a background in tech, so this was not new to me, however the way things are done is completely disorganized. “Training” was essentially several of your team members talking at you for a few days and then you are left to figure out your role on your own. There is very very little structure or reference material when it comes to how to handle incoming cases, and there are many caveats to what you are taught. CEM’s often have their own work around a specific to their clients and there is no centralized place to reference these practices. You’re literally going in every day and doing what you were taught the day prior only to find out it does not apply to most partners or most cases. It’s complete chaos. Direct management seemed relatively nice at first, but was not at all responsive to my concerns of not being trained adequately to preform well in my role. It was strictly about case volume and metrics, with little to no consideration for the fact that some cases were convoluted, and difficult to properly handle. Ultimately my time at ResQ ended abruptly with no guidance or opportunity for course correction.

Dear Former ResQer, We appreciate your review as it helps us continue to learn, grow, and adapt. ResQ is an early-stage startup, and working at a startup is without a doubt, challenging. When you are in the startup phase, there is no pre-built playbook, and processes are established by extensive experimentation and trial and error, and we certainly do not shy from that here at ResQ. Specifically for the Customer Support Specialists role, we've recently established onboarding that takes into account an even split between classroom training and shadow sessions, to help the trainee find their sense of rhythm in the role. We understand that this may not be a fit for those who prefer structure and predictability in their work, and this is why we are very transparent during the interview process that there is an unavoidable element of “trial by fire”. The best way to dive into a new job at a startup is to get your hands dirty; it’s what makes working at ResQ so thrilling, challenging, and rewarding! Thank you for sharing your feedback!
