Pros

- None are pros of working here. Everybody eventually cant wait to quit this job.

Cons

- All the positive reviews you see are paid to do by the company for freebies. - High turnover rate - Working with people who have no heart - Can place you anywhere in the USA and who pays for that you- a broke graduate. Is the job guaranteed even after moving? NOPE. No matter how good you are. -Lock you in 2 years contract at $50k when you are damn worth more than 50K and it is basically a slave contract. - Oh you want to be a dev? Guess what they can lie to you and stick you in some trainings that you dont even like and prolong the contract days. Just STAY AWAY from these people. The success rate is 10% .

Hello and thank you for your review. Your feedback is appreciated and we are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience. We would be happy to learn more about the issues you raised since many go against our current policies and should not occur. For example, we know that our candidates rely on authentic Glassdoor reviews to learn about life at Revature and so it is against our policy to provide any gifts/freebies to influence reviews. If you came across instances where gifts were being provided we would be grateful to find our more so that we can investigate. In addition, you should not be lied to about your training or have any changes made to prolong your contract. There is no place for this at Revature and so we would also be interested to receive more details so that we can look into your claims accordingly. If you are open to share more, please feel free to reach out to us at ceo-feedback@revature.com.

Pros

Certifications, agile and waterfall training, guaranteed job after completion

Cons

I recommend if you are applying to Revature to first apply to Cognizant, Accenture, or Infosys. I was placed with Cognizant and my coworkers that are Cognizant employees make at least $20k more a year than I do. Cognizant provides a 3 week training, all expenses paid, which covers everything in the Revature training. Think of Revature as a last resort because the extremely low pay and relocation assistance makes your financial situation very difficult to live on.

Thank you for the feedback. Revature is for qualified candidates who have the aptitude and drive to succeed, but just need the opportunity and training to do so. Typically, our employees are more than capable of performing at any of the great organizations that you listed. However, they lack the experience and training that - as you noted - puts our employees on par with anybody and everybody else. We thank you again for your feedback and wish you the best.

You get back what you put in - a review of the training program

Pros

I was in the Full-Stack Java Developer Program. - Relocation assistance - Nice apartments during training (my own bedroom + bathroom in a shared apartment with 3 others) - Learned in demand technologies - Learned how to pick new technologies quickly - I had client interviews before the training was over - I was hired by a Fortune 500 client before training was over (not another consulting company, by the client) **The payment far below market-wage ------ but I hear that developers are usually bought out within the first year ------ The start on your career, especially if you do not have a background in Computer Science, makes up for it. Overall, you get what you put into it. Work hard in training, and you'll do well in interviews.

Cons

I was on this site just a few months ago, wondering if this company was legit, and thinking "Wow, this sounds like a scam". But then I started reading between the lines of the harshest reviews, and began to hypothesize that the one who did poorly in training felt entitled to the job. I met some of them here. They did not finish. They either spent very little time after work studying, or working on projects, or they treated Revature like just another job, not the entry point to a career. This is NOT the place for you if you just want to "try something new". When you are here, you need to be 100% here. I spent many late nights and weekends studying and working on projects, even at the detriment of my health. The beginning seems slow, but everybody, no matter how smart, hits a point where they can't keep up. Those who stop trying at this point, inevitably fail. There is NO work-life balance (until the last few weeks). You eat, sleep, breath code. You dream in Angular. Your hobbies are Java and SQL. Your jokes are about Agile. You coworkers are your friends. Your classmates are your family. There is no outside world. This is even harder if you have a spouse and/or children. **The payment far below market-wage ------ but I hear that developers are usually bought out within the first year ------ The start on your career, especially if you do not have a background in Computer Science, makes up for it.

Thanks for sharing! Revature was founded on the premise of providing an opportunity to those who have a desire to learn and break into the tech space but lacked the connections or experience. Our training is intense but targeted to provide our employees with the competence and confidence necessary to tackle the agile workplace environment. That said, we appreciate the feedback and agree that you get out what you put in. Best of luck in your endeavors!
