Pros

They provide exactly what they say, quickly bringing up a fresh college grad to a competent professional level. This is under the assumption that you are keeping up with the bootcamp course load as they will cut you if you can't keep up. I learned more about development/coding in the bootcamp course, then over 4 years in college. After the 2 year contract is up, you should have the confidence and experience to be able to get nearly any job at your level of experience.

Cons

You are SEVERELY underpaid during your mandatory 2 year contract. I was being paid a $50,000 a year salary (with a 10% raise after year 1) when I started, but now I know that people are being started at $45,000 a year (with a 15% raise after year 1). I was placed in the DC Metro area and that place has an extremely high cost of living. If you have any other job offers/opportunities I would suggest take that instead. You'll get paid more and have better benefits HR is trash. They are either late on responses or don't even send the correct paperwork when asked

Pros

They have a good benefits package.

Cons

The thing about Revature's training that they don't tell you in the interview process is they put you in a specific batch which is learning a specific type of software. You do not get to choose your batch, they don't tell you what batch you're in until the first day, and unless you threaten to quit, you can't change your batch. So if you're stuck in something you don't like, they don't really care. Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that there's pretty much no handicap access. As in, the building they're located in doesn't have buttons to automatically open the doors if you're, say, in a wheelchair. That's probably not relevant to most people, but I wanted to say it in case you need to take that into consideration. In general, the company culture seemed really stifling. This might not be a problem to some people, but if you're going in assuming they care about you as a person, they really don't. What Revature cares about at the end of the day is their clients and providing new employees for their clients. They have realized that the best way to do this is to treat their trainees like people, and from what I've heard they've gotten better over the years, but they're really doing a good job in that respect. That lack of choice I mentioned earlier applies to basically everything. In sum, if you want any say or flexibility in what you're doing with your job, do not work for Revature.

Pros

Good training program "you get paid to learn" that's literally the only good thing about the whole program. However, learning from YouTube is probably better.

Cons

Because "you get paid to learn", you become their product "leave your humanity at the door". You'll be constantly threatened by breaching "the contract". There's no limit of how long you'll stay in staging period after completing the training, you may be stuck there for 4 months or so. Their training materials are no better than those on YouTube tutorial or online blogs/tutorials.
