Performance after Paternity Leave

Pros

The people in the non-management levels are great and I still maintain contact with.

Cons

The favoritism is real. The effort you put in may not be worth it. You could learn a lot along the way but they will also chew you up and spit you out. They said early on they were turning down work to maintain steady growth but when the going got tough suddenly those opportunities didn't exist anymore. The security of my job relying on managers ability (in-ability) to win or maintain contracts had me looking for other opportunities with actual growth opportunities. I also got my worst review around my paternity leave like another reviewer said. There is no space to have work life balance at this firm and the pay doesn't match the effort. My final time at the firm only confirmed to me that I didn't trust in the firm's ability to win and do high quality work. I found a paycheck elsewhere.

Pros

Many of the junior folks are kind and hard working Some of the work that Rios handles on its own can be interesting

Cons

Rios was designed to partner with BCG, so BCG calls the shots, and Rios leaders never do what’s best for their employees The pay is well below average for the industry The talent evaluation process on the surface appears fair, but it’s terribly biased in favor of members who’ve been around since the the early years. There’s abject favoritism that always weighs against newer employees. My only non-positive review came when I had just returned from parental leave. So I’d hesitate to work here because their benefits aren’t meant to be taken/utilized.

Pros

Many coworkers are friendly and hardworking. There is often good work life balance

Cons

High turnover and lack of integrity/transparency. For example, it looks like Rios recently responded to reviews mentioning turnover with "Our turnover is in line with the industry, but we understand it might seem low or high depending on your previous work experiences." This is false. At time of writing, the following are the median employee tenures publicly available on LinkedIn. BCG: 2.8 years Bain: 2.9 years McKinsey: 3.4 years Deloitte: 3.2 years EY: 3.1 years PwC: 3.3 years KPMG: 4.9 years Accenture: 3.3 years Booz Allen: 4.8 years Rios Partners: 2.5 years Many in leadership are comfortable presenting this kind of misleading information to clients as well.
