Pros

Remote first company, university recruitment, acquired Wiley University Services over a year ago. Use Salesforce CRM.

Cons

70 seasoned staff laid off as company now making payments on its private equity loan for the recent takeover. Not as personal or professional as Wiley. Much more of a call center feel, mass-marketing, compliance requirements are a real bother. Layoffs came, some severance offered, but serious confusion in communication on the health care benefit extension in the severance.

Pros

Risepoint is deeply committed to its mission of expanding access to higher education, and that purpose drives everything the organization does. The work is both impactful and rewarding, and the team is made up of passionate, collaborative individuals who genuinely care. Leadership is accessible and transparent - they communicate clearly and support employees at every level. The fully remote work environment is a major plus. Tools and processes are in place to support remote collaboration, and there’s a strong sense of team despite the distance.

Cons

Some internal processes are still taking shape as the organization gets larger.

Pros

Remote-first company. People are dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate about our business, as well as easy to work with. The company welcomes people of all backgrounds and encourages new ideas. I can be proud of this company's contribution to the industry. Risepoint Leadership is thoughtful in the way they have integrated acquired companies, and tried to build a culture that is separate from Legacy entities, while retaining the most important aspects of each. Having been through a few acquisitions prior, I can say that this is the first time I've ever described a company as handling it well and I'm glad I stuck around to see how everything would play out.

Cons

Being remote-first means that building relationships with colleagues may take a little longer and you can feel siloed at first.
