Thanks for your input and your continued contribution to the RB family. While we only had a short opportunity to work with you, we hope this gave you a chance to experience everything RB has to offer. RB is definitely a very unique environment and while we may not be the right match for everyone, we actually find that of the few employees that end up leaving us, a large percentage of them boomerang back because of our industry-leading compensation and benefits they can only get at RB. That being said, there really are some great points here, and we thank you for sharing them. We pride ourselves in our “work-hard, play-hard” motto, and we are rewarded well for strong performance while having an incredibly unique work/life experience. Whether they are here for a short time or a long time (like the majority of our employees), we are committed to creating the best employment experience for everyone. Since you last worked with us, we have already done a complete audit of our culture to pinpoint our strengths and to take action on the areas that need improvement. We are also in the process of shaping new relationship focused roles that have been designed to address some of your concerns. If you are interested, we would be happy to discuss some of these changes with you to see if our new approach might fit with your career needs.

Pros

Excellent benefits, exciting job, close knit "family" feeling at most locations.

Cons

If you are not willing to be all Orange all the time, you will not advance. If you are not one of the 'boys' you will not advance. The pay for anyone who is not is higher management or sales is abismal but you are expected to work and carry the responsibility of someone making 6 figures. There needs to be a change in the upper management in most of the divisions. RBA pushes safety, fairness and a harrasment free environment and that is not what you get. Safety is top of mind but long hours and pressure cause many to cut corners or be tired enough to get hurt. Nepotism is a huge problem in the company as is the promoting of 'drinking buddies'. People who have been warned or suspended for harrasment are sometimes brought back to work and those in higher positions are not dealt with if they commit harrasment.

First of all, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are extremely disappointed to read about your experience. When harassment and safety concerns are raised in our workplace, we address with the utmost priority and employee wellbeing in mind. We are very clear on our intolerance of workplace harassment in our policies, code of conduct, and regular, mandatory training for employees, and we have multiple avenues for addressing harassment and safety concerns directly with Human Resources, Legal, Executives and our Anonymous Employee Hotline. Safety is an ongoing focus for Ritchie Bros. and a personal responsibility for everyone. Our Safety Committee has read your comments and has taken this feedback very seriously.
