Great place to work because of coworker. I made friends there that I still keep in touch with from four years ago. Great place to work if you enjoy Photography and the business.
Cons
I worked there before the Company went Bankrupt for five years, I could see it coming. When I came to Ritz Camera I already had twenty years experience in Retail and the Industry. The company was very cheap and did not spend money wisely even before the Bankruptcy when business was good. Examples are: They had a 25 year old outdated POS system still being used before they went Bankrupt This caused many billing, customer service problems, service delays in general. Finally this resulted in a lot of pissed off customers and frustrated employees. The needed supplies were always running out with out any real plans to replenish them when needed. The service department was a joke and customers were told anything to just keep them quiet for a while. The management really pushed the service contracts, and employees were demanded to push them too. This was really demanded even though the real service was not there. The hard working senior employees were reward by more work and responsibility, with out any financial reward. This was because the company needed them to take up the slack of the newer employees who did not know or care about what they were doing. If you are drop dead desperate for a job then work for them but keep looking. If not then just bypass them and move on.
