Ritz Camera is a dying company, no future

Pros

Better than not working although not much better. Flexible schedule and OK work environment if your lucky enough to have a decent store manager. Good benefits if your lucky enough to be full time

Cons

Low Pay. Bad management at the senior level. Store managers are merely scapegoats, not real managers. Senior management constantly skirts labor laws to see what they can get away with. (i.e. they cut store staff to the point it's nearly impossible to take a lunch break)

Great stepping stone, but anyone looking for Career should use it just as that.

Pros

If you plan to be a professional photographer or just love photography this is a great job to start because of the very large discounts. If you enjoy selling or want to improve your selling abilities this is a great company to help you learn selling techniques with hands-on experience.

Cons

It is a retail job so unless you plan to get into management you will never make a large income and there are better retail jobs for management out there. The printing and selling camera business dies more and more each year because of online competitors, sadly this company will eventually fold to the competition. You really have to love photography to realistically stay here for the long haul and how long this company will last is a mystery.
