once was fun

Pros

get to go on vacation with each customer as you developed their photos fun atmosphere great coworkers

Cons

at some point the lab only employees were converted to sales as well. I didn't like selling at all. Im a terrible liar and don't know much about individual cameras. I was an expert developer though

If you enjoy photography, working with like-minded individuals, and interacting with the public, Ritz Camera Centers can be a great experience.

Cons

The company is very financially unstable. Every day, you never know if you are going to be celebrated with a bonus or laid off.

Pros

Not bad to get starter management experience for a young person. Can be fun with the right co-workers and managers. Just don't stay too long, it's a dead-end.

Cons

Most of the store managers shouldn't be i their positions, they are just glorified salesmen and not really managers. The stores are really run by the district managers, who to a man look down on the sales associates.I know, I was on both sides. They want blood and truly think it's a privilege to work there. No give and take, it's only one way and if you don't like it too bad. If you need a particular day off , say to go to the doctor, not an extra day but just a certain day off, they want 30 days notice and you have to use a vacation day. Hard to believe but it's true.
