      Worst place I've ever worked by a fair margin

      Pros

      Roblox pays well above market. Lunch and generous snacks are provided and the office is nice, and right next to caltrain.

      Cons

      Literally everything else is a dumpster fire. The infrastructure is garbage. The planning is chaotic. Senior leadership will not delegate and seems to think all the employees are stupid. Middle management is cliquey, territorial, and ineffective. Reviews are constant and arbitrary. Lots of petty fiefdoms. Nothing gets done. top talent comes and goes pretty quickly. Morale is perpetually low, and most employees and managers are scared to varying degrees, and no one is confident. The stock is going nowhere. The CEO thinks he's a visionary but everyone else can see that he's an idiot.

      Roblox will make you a worse engineer

      Pros

      Comp is high, especially considering how easy the work is.

      Cons

      Here's the review I wish I read before accepting my offer --> If you are coming from a well-developed engineering culture, the stuff you see here will leave you wanting to quit in your first week. You won't because the comp is good and you've already left your old job. But you'll stay and witness poor collaboration, a lack of engineering aptitude, and the most dysfunctional engineering culture of your career. You'll try to make an impact which will be blocked by poor tooling, incompetent partner teams, and ICs chasing their vanity project for their next promo. After 6 months you'll realize that giving the bare minimum and collecting a paycheck is enough. This job isn't worth it.

      - Great people who are passionate about the work they do - ERGs do amazing work, they go above and beyond to create inclusive communities for employees

      - Leadership doesn't receive reviews - Leadership uses a top-down approach, limits innovation - Lack of established company culture - ERGs are expected to do all cultural and D&I work on top of their roles as employees - Lack of diversity in leadership
