Pros

Great global opportunities to be exposed to different parts of the business as a Buyer. Interface with Customer Facing Business Units, Finance, Operations, and Engineering communities.

Cons

Rolls-Royce has an alarmingly high attrition rate in the Buyer positions. Retention rates are of high concern within Purchasing business unit with numerous new "development" programs underway. Time will tell whether these initiatives cure the turnover issue. Most concerning is Rolls-Royce repeatedly issues profit warnings and comments on a Cash Crisis - and yet there is little business support for cost reduction, producibility, and truly minimizing costs. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are wasted in expedite fees for the "hot" NPI programs whilst legacy programs get little attention.
