      Challenging but awesome

      Pros

      Corporate and technology functions at Root are full of smart people that grind. Leadership expects a lot, there is never a sense of status quo at Root. However, you will learn and grow a TON. A year here can feel like 5 years anywhere else in terms of exposure and growth. If you're the type of person that likes to be challenged, you will like it here.

      Cons

      Some aspects of Root can be inefficient in terms of decision making. Often times it's unclear who is the final decision maker and we can spend too much time in making the final call on something that was relatively clear to the people that were proposing it.

      Pros

      Root is full of people who care deeply about solving tough problems for customers and doing it the right way — with data, not gut feel. The culture is super analytical and collaborative; everyone’s expected to bring evidence to the table and challenge ideas respectfully. It’s fast-paced and high-bar, but if you love making decisions based on data and working with smart, curious teammates, it’s an awesome place to be.

      Cons

      The high bar can be intense—Root moves fast, and expectations are high. You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity and self-direction. But for those who thrive in analytical, ownership-heavy roles, it’s energizing.
