Pros

None. It’s nice to start work with kids your own age. You will trauma bond with them

Cons

-old fashioned -outdated technology -the entirety of this position should be done by technology -old, stale leadership -major disconnect between leadership and younger workers -went back on their word about in office vs. Wfh -blame associates for company poor performance due to macroeconomic factors -not flexible at all -nature of the job is go go go, process emails for tasks to do, no access to technology for days and then release access so everyone is scrambling on Thursday/Friday Genuinely the worst place to start your career. You will learn absolutely no transferable skills here. This company is a dinosaur. No one is happy. Do not work here.

Pros

Employee benefits, summer fridays, job stability.

Cons

They are liars. The CEO promised work life balance and a 3 day office policy. They lied. We now have to be in 4 days. They lured new hires by saying it’s only 3 days in the office, and lied to the current employees who slave to make this company billions. They are uprooting peoples lives with this news. They are blaming no bonus in 2022 on the employees and punishing us by making us be in office another day.

Pros

Benefits are decent, and pay is good (but not worth the workload)

Cons

More than half of my department had left within the past couple of months because the workload is unmanageable, the expectations of the buying teams are unrealistic, and there is rarely any acknowledgement for your accomplishments. It is a sink or swim environment, and your told to learn by failure. There is way too much pressure put onto Assistants, as we are forced to wear too many different hats, and manage huge portions of the business that is way above our paygrade. Your experience as an Assistant Buyer truly depends on your manager, and unfortunately it is more often than not, not a good one. In order to get promoted, you have to prove that you are already doing the role of the title you are trying to get promoted to (so doing the job, but not getting the pay for it).
