Pros

Great company to work for! When you have the mindset to move up within the company or your store, it's very possible. It only took me only 1 year of working there that I was able to become a manager/supervisor. Your hired as part-time when you start, so there are less scheduale obligations you have. They love to promote from within, and the management team works close with you to make sure it happens. Even the coporate managers/leaders, know who are once you've made the steps to move up. It's all about support, and they definitely give it you. There is a lot of self reflection/review your expected to fulfill, however it is very helpful to see your own progress and how you're developing and achieving your goals. Also, the fact that Ross doesn't descriminate against anyone, you meet amazing peoeple to work with. There stories and backgrounds are just amazing, truly my most favorite coworkers I have met, were from Ross.

Cons

Not all managers are the same and there tends to be some obvious favortisim between management and associates. But that's any company. Sometimes when your store is understaffed, if our part-time you will work full-time hours, but with out the benefits and pay. Becuase some stores are only allowed any a limited amount of full-time associates, but hours need to be worked. Expecatations can be be very high, and if you don't meet them, sometimes they will "coach" you to work a different shift or postion.

Thanks for your review! It's always great to hear positive experiences had within one of our stores. We're all about helping our Associates grow their own career and we're happy that you found that to be true in your own experience. In regards to your concern with high expectations and low head count, our retail scheduling is designed to meet the needs of our customers and to make sure that we have trained Associates available to cover all shifts. Sometimes, Associates may have to put in extra hours when the store gets busy and you're right, that's how the retail industry works at times. But with amazing Store Leadership and a hard-working team, our associates are always able to be resilient against the changes of retail.

Pros

They have decent benefits and vacation (but you can never get a day off and if you do its not worth it when you come back).

Cons

Management thinks they own you. You will work a ton of hours and be treated like you are a machine. No flexability for life needs. VP is a liar and fosters an environment of co-workers being pitted against one another. You will be treated like you are a incompetent 6 year old in kindergarten instead of a working degreed professional.
