Pros

"flex" hours, lots of professional development encouraged, health insurance pretty great, depending on pay grade you start with two weeks vacation and get about one additonal day each year, travel opportunities

Cons

the teams keep to themselves with little collaboration, yet duplicate work...because change requires approval from several commitees, opinions from volunteers, legislation and other people/sources it is difficult to create any real change or have an impact (takes about 2-5 years)... little room for growth...no formal telecommuting policy...lots of gladhanding with club members and leadership

Pros

The turnover rate in the Contact Center was VERY low relative to the industry. The team really knows its stuff, and is moving in a positive direction! Everyone on the team is supportive, but honestly, not many others in the organization really understand what we do.

Cons

Sometimes there would be a lack of clarity on the scope of what we should be doing or what the right/wrong answer would be for the callers - the addition of a Quality Assurance Specialist on the team helped with this, but the position was replaced with a second supervisor. The supervisors were sometimes not able to follow through with giving us the support we needed.

Pros

Average-good benefits Humanitarian mission around the world Good professional training (2005-2007)

Cons

Very bureaucratic inter-department procedures. In the Foundation there is an environment of ""supervisors-mgrs. club" wasting time in planing "humanitarian trips, meetings, improvements" instead of working on the day to day needs. Which means higher salaries-benefits for them instead of a more equal distribution among a large group of subordinates. They promote from within the "club" not according to performance and skills.
