Abusive, Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Work schedule starting from 9am or 10am, easy commute for most. Some friendly people. The company itself has a good model for development and is growing fast

Cons

Senior and upper management at corporate in certain departments are extremely toxic and downright abusive. Nonstop, incessant gossip behind closed doors while smiling to your face. Clear favoritism for Japanese. Lying about advancement opportunities. Company president will scream in peoples' face. HR is clearly biased against workers, and will not accept complaints about abuse by management. Indirect threats and mind games are standard practice. Pay is on the low end. Raises are not good. No bonuses. Promotions only go to Japanese. If you want to work here, please rethink.

Thank you for the feedback. Your concerns expressed here are very serious to us, and we will never take things like toxicity and abuse lightly. While we understand your anger at this company, we just want to let you know that Round 1 is still a new company in the US, and there are many more things that we need to learn, but we have been progressing little by little with all of the combined efforts of our valuable workers!

Pros

Works with complicated school schedules. Great team and great support from managers. Understands when if you have to call out for emergencies. Usually, if you request certain days off fast enough, it will happen.

Cons

The guests are mean most of the time if you're in bowling, but the company can't control that. You don't know your work schedule until the last minute. A lot of physical work. Sometimes understaffed. Often, closing shifts are the hardest.

Pros

Comparison to my previous job, I like the people and eventually if you work hard you are appreciated here. People are fun and loving. Everyone greets me happly when I come into work. And at the time I was hired, at least it paid more then my previous job. They are pretty flexible hours, but they are mostly graveyard shifts.

Cons

Coporate cares more about saving every penny and money then employees and as a result, it passes down heavily on everything. The turnaround for new employees is pretty high. I almost see a new employee every other month and a person quitting everymonth. As a result, when your short staffed and you do well, the leads still have to work as hard as newer hires. I close alone every night because they don't get enough staff. Leads don't get health benefits right away when they become one and Ive been working for over a year. They always ask me for a doctors note without health insurance. You are raised only by .25 cents. Shipping is never on time, and no matter what, coporate likes to put off the blame on them and instead puts it on the people at the store. So like when we are out, we are out of stuff for several weeks. You would expect to ship more when a store is the top 10 store. If the staff doesn't work on restocking, you end up restocking all the plushies, and boxes, which the way its setup especially cranes, you will end up restocking 5-10 heavy boxes at 3 am in the morning.

Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate the hard work you have been putting in, especially with stocking the plushies so late at night. Glad to hear that you've enjoyed coming into work to a team of great co-workers!
