Pros

They “look” like a cool company from the outside looking in. They promise all of the things you’d expect a young company to offer. Then you get hired...

Cons

This company about 5 years ago would’ve been a great place to work. Now? They are denying the culture that built their success by bringing in old school, old hat managers who have track records of stripping the life out of a workplace and turning a cultured environment into a heartless shallow shell of its former self. This company DOES NOT allow for suggestions or sympathy. First off, they won’t tell you about not missing a single day of your first 90 days. Not one sick day, not one funeral, no emergencies in 1/3rd of a year. As I said, heartless. Oh and all of those things you’re reading about a “great culture” from their recruiters writing on Glassdoor? Yeah, don’t believe that. They asked me to wear a suit for my second interview and that “it would seal the deal” for my employment. I’m pretty sure resumes and personalities do that in a company rich with culture, not suits. I almost forgot about the time I was called a racial slur in the hallway. Then they proceeded to sweep it under the rug as an “outlier” after I was repeatedly asked “did they say it in a joking manner?” I have never felt so unsupported and embarrassed in my career. There’s so much more to uncover about my time there and instead of explaining it all in detail. Let’s move to the rapid fire bonus round! Forced me to start without giving two weeks notice to my previous employer. Never knew how much commission I was making the whole time I worked there, despite being paid like a waiter where your company pays you peanuts and then puts it on their customers to foot the rest of their employees salaries. Saw blatant cyber and verbal bullying that included the sales managers as well. And all the while I was fired for “not being a culture fit” Funny that an individual such as myself raised in integrity and values that expand to include not being a racist, not bullying people, and treating others how you’d like to be treated, wasn’t a culture fit..... thank god.

Thanks for your feedback. We are committed to creating a comfortable, collaborative and transparent working environment for all of our employees. I am disappointed to hear that you felt we didn't live up to this standard. We are taking your feedback seriously and will look into any place that we missed in giving our employees a great experience. I wanted to address some of your specific concerns. First, I have never encountered a situation where we were able to force anyone to start working for us against their will if you felt that you needed more time we would have been happy to accommodate you as we have done for so many of our other new hires. Second, our customer care team's pay and incentive structure is published for anyone in the department to refer to, if it was unclear I wish you would have asked any of the leadership to clarify things for you. Finally, as we grow and add new team members, cultural fit is very important in order for us to maintain excellence and create the best possible work environment for everyone. I am sorry that your experience at Printfly did not match our intention to be the best place you've ever worked.
