Pros

IT Engineers wear many hats, so there is the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide array of technologies.

Cons

This is a manufacturing company, so IT isn't viewed as a high priority in the company. The IT department lacks leadership and resources, and talent is spread far too thin. While engineers wear many hats and are exposed to a wide array of technology, most of it is dated. Exposure to current technology is limited due to an aging support staff that does not keep current in their technical abilities along with a lack of commitment to training from the company. There is little opportunity for advancement here and most employees stay in the same position for very long periods of time without promotion.

Pros

Investment in the facilities, good benefits, good work-life balance. Makes a lot of money and is generous with bonuses. Lots of events to keep employees entertained.

Cons

Very top heavy. Upper management is too involved with lower level decisions. If you disagree with upper management, might as well start looking for a new job. Very reactionary management team with poor strategic planning and vision. Lots of cliques of people. If you aren't in one of those groups, you are looked at like an outcast. Teams are understaffed, yet they spend millions of dollars making improvements to the building.

Pros

Company has long standing history.

Cons

Very small operation in Atl. was once known as Synta. Was not set up to handle volume of calls. Management did not know what to do. No training for the position I was put on phone the 1st I started. Set up to fail.
