Pros

Didn't have to work super late.

Cons

-The shop and rental counter at Long Island City have a terrible attitude, especially the Rental Manager -The customers can be a pain, not as bad as the employees were -The job lacked structure, phone constantly ringing, expected to be at 3 places at once: dispatching customers, replying to emails, marketing calls and answering the phones

Pros

Pool Driver opportunity allows you to experience different accounts and work skills, adding to your work experience. Hotel card for when you aren't in a sleeper. Some accounts allow you to be home every night, some home on the weekends. ELD system. Pool drivers fill in for accounts where drivers are on vacation, sick, or the position hasn't been filled yet. It is a full-time job. Hours and miles paid to get to next job office if beyond 50 miles from home. Paid OT over 40 hours. All non-rental tractors have an onboard camera system that records in cab and out of cab whenever sudden movements are made while driving. They check for if you are using your phone or reaching beyond drivers seat.

Cons

Slip seating is common to the job since you are filling in for several accounts. Some accounts can be 100% touch freight, others No-touch freight. Benefits are good after initial high deductible. Some shops are great with getting you back on the road quick, other shops suck. Recruiter will tell you it's 70% no-touch freight. It depends on the account you are covering for. Some accounts require a sleeper, some are day cabs.
