Pros
- Fantastic people to work with (both management and technical). - Great autonomy in all roles - not so it's the wild west, but enough so you have control over your own success - Management actively thinks of ways to support people being successful - Good commitment to get the techies the tools they need - server infrastructure, software licenses, etc. - Fantastic, comfortable office building with great perks (e.g. 2 x espresso machines) - High-respect culture
Cons
- Very strong "not invented here" complex. E.g. we recently re-invented the wheel by re-designing and building our very own in-house build and patch framework, while there are perfectly serviceable products out there, some even free / open source. - Can be a bit chaotic at times, project management not as mature as it needs to be (growing in the right direction, but still) - Too willing to bend to what the customer wants. It seems nobody has the guts to tell the customer that they'll just have to wait 2 years for their favourite feature, since it only appears on the product roadmap then. We're kidding ourselves by calling ourselves a products company... We're not.
