Great for a gap year

Pros

Great coworkers and Site Directors. Lots of free breakfasts, food. Curriculum created for you, so if you understand math you can show up everyday with little prep time.

Cons

Unprofessional upper management, asks for feedback but doesn't seem to take it seriously when given to them. Professional development is not beneficial outside of the position and isn't as robust as their website claims. Kind people but I felt blown off A LOT, even in instances where I was doing something on my own time.

Pros

Interact one on one with students, form personal relationships, not have to worry about the demands of managing a whole classroom. You don't have to be an expert in education to do a service year here.

Cons

Very low pay and benefits, exhausting work with high potential to burn out.
