Great company if you can handle it

Pros

An amazing team of top-notch developers. Excellent place to learn and to work with the latest coding technologies. I've learned more working here than from any other employer. The work itself is challenging enough to keep you interested, but not so much to stress you out. Competitive salary and generous benefits. Very casual and fun atmosphere.

Cons

Management can be demanding, but if you bring your 'A' game, it will pay off.

Pros

Location - area of office in NE Portland is convenient Co-workers (not owners) are generally friendly, awesome people! The pay is okay - sometimes you get a raise when they fire others :( Paychecks are usually on time

Cons

Terrible, incompetent management / owners: Aaron Allison and Tim Morita CEO and CTO (owners) can often be maniacs, they lack sleep and maturity. The owners make their business process up on-the-fly, changing it multiple times a week in many cases. They refuse advice and refuse to independently research this. Management resorts to shouting matches to resolve debates - berates coworkers, frequent gaslighting Most toxic work environment I have ever experienced / imagined Utter lack of software development or management skills and experience from owners The software doesn't even work. Every version is untested. Every version is broken. Every customer complains. Support staff is overworked and understaffed, leading to poorly done work. This leads to frustration of coworkers, owners, and customers - and more bugs in the software they are trying to support The owners make promises to employees and customers, but never follow through The owners have the temper, social skills, maturity, attention span, and management skills of an 8 year-old child Management rarely gives feedback to employees. If they do, its indecipherable Narcissism - the owner's nephew is a degrading and rude employee that should have never been hired. Instead, he will never be fired. Noisy open-office environment No more office snacks No office retreats or team building - its harsh "productivity" only

It's December 6, 2020 and SBI Software is stronger than ever. I treat our clients and team members with dignity and respect. I find it extremely offensive for you to question my character. Please provide proof of your accusations before you slander my family name. I am an honorable man. Tim Morita Co-Founder SBI Software

Utter insanity. Avoid this company at all costs!

Pros

Paychecks came on time, surprisingly.

Cons

Everyone in this office looks so beaten down, and sad. Likely because the CEO is a raging maniac. Want to get yelled at and town apart in front of your coworkers by management? This is the company for you! Hands down the most toxic workplace and environment I have experienced in my 15 years working in tech. Aside from the absolutely horrible environment, the software package doesn't even work. Support staff is phenomenally overworked and overstressed because the software package is broken. Every. Single. Customer. Has major problems, and bugs in their system. CEO will berate you publicly if something happens, meanwhile he never follows through on anything he promises to staff, or customers. Also, good luck deciphering his feedback. Aaron Allison has the grammar, spelling, and typing abilities of a 3rd grader.
