Disappointing

Pros

A very talented, friendly, and down-to-earth group of employees who work really hard.

Cons

The news recently that the CEO joined the Trump Administration's science and technology council is a slap in the face to his current and former employees. For someone who claims to value environmental stewardship to work for a president who has not only rolled back environmental protections and is actively anti-science but also under IMPEACHMENT investigation implies he only cares about his own prestige and giant tax cut.

Some people might choose not to participate, but Fisk wanted to do this solely because he believes science is critical to solving the issues that affect our world today. Having a seat at the table means at least having a chance to advocate for science.

Leadership...or lack there of

Pros

Generous pay and benefits. Onsite fitness centers, cafes and clinics (in Racine). Summer hours and holiday shutdown week (again, in Racine).

Cons

Extremely hierarchical and too many layers of management. Decision making needs to be pushed down into the organization, too much needs to go all the way to the top. Some areas are overworked but others are underutilized, sitting stagnant waiting for approvals or decisions to be made. Communications is especially challenging to work with and stifle more than they support the business functions. Antiquated systems and processes. Telecommuting policy is far too rigid.
