Pitiful personal skills from upper and mid management
Pros
Excellent pay and benefits with great life-work balance.
Cons
Thank goodness the VP was fired. He did not have clue regarding the management of a trucking company. His campaigns to ridicule the competition backfired every time. Saia's only chance for growth is to ponce on the customers of fallen carriers. This has been done with little success as recent extensive reduction of its workforce has done nothing more than to render customer service incompetent. Its poor performance is costing long time customers to seek more professional carriers or endure the terrible service for rock bottom pricing. The current sales force is nothing more than high paid order takers as pricing is all Saia has left. Should another carrier fail, Saia does not have the resources to take advantage.
