Pros

Beautiful resort, nice golf courses

Cons

Where to begin, this is the worst company I have ever worked for in my 25 plus years in the hospitality industry. Management in Orlando is clueless which is why there is so much turnover. They can’t keep a director and those that are in engineering management have little to no engineering experience. They have very detailed rules which are routinely ignored. Favoritism is rampant. Pay is substandard compared to other resorts. Training is nonexistent. HR is ineffective. Unless you are desperate, work somewhere else.

Pros

As others have said in their reviews, this is the best company I have ever worked for. Your coworkers will become your family, which is important when you spend 40+ a week here. It is a great dynamic of people who are all friendly, helpful and want to see you succeed. There are plenty of opportunities for growth, they open all positions up internally first. There are great benefits, competitive pay, perks such as $3 lunch, access to use the fitness center, opportunities to get free massages or free meals in the restaurants, discounts at sister properties in Florida, Charleston and New Orleans, as well as other discounts through Ticketsatwork, cell phone plans, etc. The Human Resource department is constantly looking for new perks and opportunities for their employees. There are employee recognition programs, annual holiday parties, and fun things to do within the resort such as costume contests, employee fitness classes, and monthly newsletters to keep you up to date on your coworkers. This is a great place to start your career and feel like you are at home! The General Manager and the owner, Sheila Johnson are people you feel proud to work for.

Cons

Most people have to commute 30 minutes to an hour to work here. That is the biggest complaint I hear from fellow employees.

Pros

One of the most amazing places I have ever worked. I thought that I knew better than everyone else there and I let that get in the way of my growth. I should have taken the time to learn from the rest of the management team there as they are some of the most amazing professionals in the industry.

Cons

The hours are a little long but, I have learned now that, that's what it takes to be successful.
