Pros

Good benefits and bonuses with an above average hourly rate for the area, there are some opportunities for advancement. Overall an okay place to work.

Cons

Poor direct and indirect management, there is a lack of continuity and you will get different answers from different people.

Pros

Lots of resources, both personnel and tools. Big name, well known. Stable business model. 40 hours a week is sufficient and no more is expected.

Cons

Difficult to get a response, let alone help, from resources outside of one's functional group. An attitude of 'keeping my job' over 'doing my job' pervades the culture (at least in the government contract). IT ownership of systems leads to an adversarial relationship with the the business groups (with fault on both sides, of course).
