Pros

Sallie Mae offers a solid benefits package, generous PTO, and a genuine commitment to promoting from within. The teams are collaborative and management is generally accessible and communicative. For someone with a finance background, there are meaningful opportunities to work on complex, high-volume processes and gain valuable experience in a well-known financial institution.

Cons

I don’t have any cons with this company as an employer!

Solid company in an interesting industry, but favoritism exists

Pros

Well-established, stable financial institution. Interesting industry, top lender. Excellent work/life balance and has kept promise to remain hybrid.

Cons

Despite pretty stable C-suite, lower-level senior leaders and strategies change at least every 6 months. Hold on for the ride. Favoritism is abundant and determines who gets promoted or offered growth opportunities. Only Senior Directors+ have influence.
