Pros

Sampling New products , working with fun people

Cons

The management is awful , several different presidents over a short period of time , unreliable upper management , no training , constantly cutting hours , won’t hire full time employees unless your store makes 660,000 a year . Constantly changing policies , on dress code , the new brand standards is a joke !

Pros

Nothing. The only pro was I lived close to work after my 9.5+ hr/day shift.

Cons

* They require no cosmetology knowledge to be advising customers on complex hair coloring issues & problems, which makes for lots of stressed out, return customers, needing other products to fix the damaged & unfixable. As the only cosmetologist in my store, it's very stressful for me to help those who were given horrible advice & continue to be given so. * The caliber of employees, including management, is stunning awful, but that's what you get when you pay lower than Target & just want a grunt to work the register & be a body on the floor for the required hours. * Lots of employee theft, poor work habits, like sneaking out without clocking out, drinking during the day, breaking all sorts of rules (like no food or drinks at the register). * Little to no training. You're thrown into working the floor & using the POS. If you have little to no retail experience, their outdated training vids on the store iPad (the only training you'll get) & outdated POS will leave you bewildered for a couple of weeks. Add to that, no one at my store does the same thing (like exchanges) the same way... turns out, both were wrong. Some also think it's allowed to take gifts with purchases customers don't want... it's not. * Hours are horrendous. You must be available 8:30am-9:30pm, work split shifts, be scheduled some nights, midday & opening shifts. Added to that, in my store, closing & opening procedures were done differently, some wrong. Coming in as a mngr & trying to organize this mess is ridiculous. * Far too much understaffing. * Overall, if a new store mngr or advisor, you feel abandoned & frustrated by not getting straight answers for even menial tasks.

Pros

Working with all the beauty products and helping people. Being able to dress up and give testimonials to customers on products we use for ourselves.

Cons

Trying to work 45 hours a week as store manager when the store is only open 11 hours a day. Expecting assosciates to work by them themselves for hours. No payroll hours to help us store managers not have to be there 24/7. Pay is horrible.
