Pros

Abundant parking and good food, free EV charging, amazing gym with fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, and the like. Great rec center with DDR and an Xbox One - all the amenities are top notch.

Cons

There is a lack of respect for support staff, contractors and zero oversight of senior leadership so they're free to do whatever they want. Human Resources is a revolving door of talent, newly hired professionals leave almost as soon as they step foot in the door. Leadership plays games with people's livelihoods.

Samsung DRVLine (Autonomous driving) team is the biggest joke!

Cons

The drvline team is a joke. No one has any clue what is going on. 99% of the development effort has been shipped off to Korea and Germany. The US team has been kept alive just to show the world that there is a US team. There is nepotism all around the organization. This is basically a home for people looking to do something between 9am to 5pm. Please don't join this team. Well, join this team and if you have a side gig going on then you can make time for that. There is literally no work here. Amazing work life balance though! No work, only life.

Not a Silicon Valley Tech Company

Benefits are great, gym on site, beautiful campus, free lunch, friendly and helpful coworkers

Cons

SSI is a Korean company in Silicon Valley. There is a lot of oversight from Korea and the Korean dispatchers onsite, so it is difficult to get things done when goals change with frequent leadership changes. Very hierarchical and political. Systems are terrible. Approvals for software requests can take days to weeks and you may get an old version where you will need to unlearn any current software knowledge. If you care about your work, having accomplishments, staying current on common business software and promotions for anyone other than Korean men, look elsewhere. There are plenty of companies in Silicon Valley that are attractors of great talent, Samsung is not one of them.
