Pros

3 weeks vacation to start, but have to take 5 days PTO during Christmas closure. No sick days. Free gym, cheap food. Nice campus

Cons

Six re-orgs in a year. 2 layoffs. Products launched months before actually ready, firmware changes after customer quals. Unrealistic sales quotas. Management is out of touch with reality.

Great potential floundered by short sighted management

Pros

1. Company is well placed in flash industry with little competition and great demand 2. Bonus, ESPP, RSU structure offsets industry average base salary

Cons

1. Extremely short sighted top management looking for quarter over quarter EPS as opposed to building a great company 2. Strategies stemming from short sightedness never allow the company to grow to its full potential (even in a favorable market) - examples are poor acquisition of FusionIO, late in taping out 3D NAND by 1.5yrs 3. Work culture is poor - the CEO and SVPs don't walk the talk when it comes to fairness and work-life balance 4. Non-egalitarian values such as praising the boss openly, never standing up to the senior management, working late = hard work, favoritism, treating employees like secretaries has made the company weak and ineffective 5. Too many Type-B's were promoted to Director/Sr Director/VP levels which are simply ineffective in leading the company

Pros

1) Free bagel and fruits on Friday 2) Free Spa-water (whatever that means) during lunch 3) Market rates on salaries when you start your job. 4) Agile

Cons

1) Lack of management clarity is very evident. Programs keep changing or getting cancelled. People get fired and hired very fast 2) Poor quality of HR team. The entire HR team should be revamped, they are cost driven and do not understand value of benefits. No paternity leave and no sick time off, this is 2015 not 90s. Other companies are offering unlimited vacations and SanDisk does not offer new Dad's time-off. People do not become parents every 6 months management. It is a 1-2 times during your entire employment when someone would become a Dad, give folks at least 2 weeks of free time-off. 3) SanDisk is known for multiple hierarchy, they discovered the use of roman numerals to the best. Listen to this, we have Program Manager I, Program Manager II, ......up to Program Manager V before you are made a Sr. Program Manager.

Thank you for your constructive feedback! SanDisk’s benefit programs are designed with maximum flexibility in mind, including our Paid Time Off program (PTO). PTO can be used for a variety of reasons including vacation, illness, emergencies, caring for family members or other personal reasons. We want to empower employees to determine how to best use their time off based on personal preference rather than assigning time off for specific purposes. For our Leave program, we allow new fathers to use their PTO to help offset the income gap between their earnings through the state and their normal earnings if they were still working. Any time our employees go on Leave, we encourage them to coordinate with our Leave administrator who can provide expert guidance on how to navigate the government’s Leave system. We continually assess our benefit portfolio against the external market to evaluate emerging trends and overall competitiveness. The Leave program is included in that review and we will continue to shape our program design to remain competitive in the market. We offer many Benefit programs to our employees and we are always open to discuss our current portfolio as well as ways we can improve.
