Pros

1. Lots of experience working on a variety of projects (healthcare, residential, hotels, parks, etc). You will be working on up to 15+ projects at once and will learn alot at a quick pace. 2. Company outings are pretty great. 3. People are very knowledgeable and passionate about their work. Everybody is willing to help one another.

Cons

1. Workload and deadlines are unpredictable (you'll sometimes touch 10+ projects in one day) and can get very stressful, but that's life. 2. Lots of micro-management even when you have a clear direction on where to go. 3. Compensation is not the best compared to industry averages in the Bay Area.

Pros

Lots of technical experience on a wide variety of projects. Most mid-level employees are pleasant to work with. Good company outings and/or activities.

Cons

Poor management and disorganization. Pay is far below industry standards and expectations are unreasonable for workload and deadlines.

Do not work at Sandis

Pros

80% of the employees are pleasant to work with, which makes the work environment slightly better Fast-paced work environment results in a much greater knowledge of design civil engineering Most weeks, unless you had tight deadlines, you could leave by 5/5:30

Cons

Management has over-and-above expectations. If you want to work here, expect to be told that you are not doing a good job no matter how hard or long you work. After a certain point at Sandis, your learning stops because they are so over-loaded with projects that nobody has time to help you, which results in making mistakes you didn't know were possible and getting blamed for it. If you took your experience to another company after one year at Sandis, they will pay you at least 25% more and actually respect you and help you further develop your knowledge.
