Pros

Smart associates with a lot of potential.

Cons

Unfortunately, the leadership team at SC is terrible. HR leadership leads with intimidation and fear. SC used to be a fun place to work, with interesting work and fun associates. Now, the morale is down and nobody wants to be there. Specifically, in HR, everyone is scared and just keeping their heads down trying to get by. The CHRO is not a people person at all. She is feared by everyone, instead of respected. She has completely shifted the culture at SC. She has her minions within HR that do her dirty work. The outlook for the company doesn't look good at all and I would not recommend a friend to work there. My team there was awesome and I enjoyed many other associates. Unfortunately, it just isn't a good place to be anymore.

Pros

Talented and amazing people that bust their butt (unfortunately, do not get recognized enough)

Cons

AWFUL systems with teams that can't support them. IT runs the bank (with their poor systems and practices) Does not promote a risk minded culture. Poor leadership and management. Unethical practices. Weak recruiting process and placement. People in roles that clearly aren't qualified. Micromanagers. No dress code. Bullying. Nothing gets done. There's a clash between the ones that want to do the right thing and people that don't-- seems like some people are part of a mafia and there are cover ups with issues and problems. How can you fix anything without understanding the root cause and holding certain teams/ people accountable? Lack of accountability

Pros

- Learned A LOT about what it means to be a manager - Small bank so I was able to know everyone that worked within the same district as me - DIVERSE employees. Loved having co-workers of different backgrounds - Easily able to move up. - Plenty of banking knowledge given - Extremely talented people work there. You will find life friends and inspiration people (in branches).

Cons

- There were times I was not able to have LUNCH BREAK (which is against the law btw) because the turnover rate in my district was HORRIBLE. Even though they have "float staff" that go around helping branches, NO ONE came to help. I had to contact HR in order to FINALLY have the float manager send someone to my branch so I could take a break after having told him I needed someone! - When I worked under short-staffed conditions and had to maintain the teller line all by myself with no break when the manager was on PTO (I was second in command so when the manager is on PTO, I'm the manager), I got sick and had to call out the next day. The District Executive ended up reprimanding me for calling out! MAYBE if you cared about your employees and send adequate help, I wouldn't have gotten sick from being overworked and NOT GETTING A LUNCH BREAK! - If you run out of Paid Time Off (PTO), you cannot even call out sick. Having to call out sick should not be something that can be held against an employee. Especially if you have a doctors note. - The medical benefits are a joke. - The way HR handles severe situations is a joke, they only care about covering the company. -My pay for all the work I did was 100% not enough. I was GROSSLY underpaid! -NO work-life balance. NONE.
