Pros

None… Run run run, extremely shady company

Cons

Company finds every loophole to not pay appropriately. Extremely high turnover. Lie/mislead in interviews to bring people in and then deny once hired. Even after documentation was provided on approvals from manager it was still denied. No explanation on how bonuses are paid. KPI targets and pay is changed frequently without notice.

We have found that many of today’s leaders appreciate a performance-driven culture that allows them to maximize their compensation and be exposed to new challenges that will provide a career path for future advancement. We do realize, however, that our accountability framework doesn’t work for everyone, and we certainly respect your decision and wish you well.

Pros

Operations Manager handles most of the headaches related to crew logistics. Ability to receive a bonus each quarter.

Cons

The Sales Team has goals and to meet those goals each quarter requires a small miracle. Every team in the organization has other goals and incentives that do not properly align with the Sales Team goals. This creates a lot of friction within the office and between the Sales Team and upper management. The Sales Arborists will always loose in the end, as upper management will just change the rules of the game 1/2 way through a quarter, or year. Most of the time upper management and/or middle management will not explain any of these changes (purposefully) and the Sales Arborist will only find out later, once they get shorted on commission, or miss their quarterly bonus by a hair. The Sales Team will start to question what is real, and what is just smoke and mirrors. It is a very dysfunctional way to do business.

As with most service companies, our sales compensation & incentive programs encourage all customer-facing team members to meet the needs of the customers we serve. In our business, this gets complicated since ongoing care is the cornerstone of excellence in arboriculture, and encouraging sustainable programs requires detailed incentive calculations which can be difficult to understand and communicate. We wish you the best of luck in your new endeavors.
