they used to be able to recruit good talent (though the good ones left in 2023 and their reputation is suffering as a result)

Cons

lack of opportunity for upward mobility diversity suffers: few women in leadership, even in non-technical orgs lack of leadership and product vision/ execution strong incentives for back-channeling and disincentives for collaboration benefits removed, compensation cuts via endless reorgs

Pros

-work from home whenever you want -get paid to write whatever inspires you to train the model -get paid weekly -get bonuses for more work -get paid to attend Zoom meetings -Slack communication is relatively streamlimed

Cons

-no benefits -contract work, so figure out those taxes yourself -not really a career but pays the bills -most management don't work nights or weekends, so you're on your own if you're a night owl like me -just be adaptable and this won't be a con; you'll be picked up and put into new projects from time to time, but they're mostly similar with a few variations
