Great place to work. Great people trying to do great things. Though I hold the minimal title of cashier, I feel important at Scheels! Seems like moving up in the company is easy and expected.

Cons

Closing shifts can suck. But what do you expect?

Pros

Discount is awesome (you receive everything at store cost so around 50% off), sense of ownership, ESOP, attractions within store, family owned, private company.

Cons

Upper management is Very cliquey. You can be running one of the best shops in the company and will get looked over for advancement if not in inner circle. Store leader is close to non existent therefore left feeling lack of support. Specialty Shop managers are often treated very poorly by assistant Store leaders. Little room for advancement unless you are willing to wait 10 years.
