- Worst culture ever - Isolated work environment - Rinse and repeat work with extensive manager critique (mostly MS Word formatting) - Non-transparent performance reviews or feedback

Pros

No ivory towers here. Everyone is approachable in the firm. Principals and Senior Managers have hands-on participation in projects and take active roles in guidance and career development for employees. Senior Associates can email, IM, or call Principals to ask questions just as easy as they can call other Senior Associates. There is also an emphasis on "we" instead of "me". The benefits are superior compared to any other organization that I have heard.

Cons

Recruiting and quality talent acquisition is slower than demand sometimes, but team members rally to get work done when challenged with resource shortages. The pace of work is sometimes hectic and certainly not for everyone.

My 5 years at Schellman were awesome. I joined in 2013, and got to be part of the company's meteoric success. My favorite saying to new employees was "Welcome to best job you'll ever have". At Schellman, that was really true. I was privileged to work directly for the CEO Chris Schellman - a demanding yet fair boss. Chris and Avani Desai (the President) were two of the smartest people I have ever met, and both became great friends and mentors. The pay and benefits at Schellman were always (and continue to be) the best in the industry - bar none. Schellman is a true gem - run, don't walk to work there.

Moving fast. Growing fast. Fun, but taxing.
