Pros

I love the work from home and travel lifestyle. Schellman cares about your work/life balance and trusts you to get the job done no matter where you are. They really put the employee first. Pay/quarterly bonuses are way above market. Amazing benefits and of course the annual company trip. Believe the hype!

Cons

Not really a con for everyone but there will be travel. If you don't want that, then you will obviously be unhappy. Even then, they try to keep you local as much as possible.

Pros

Schellman & Company brings Big-4 caliber professionals together in a boutique firm environment. Everything you need and want in an employer can be found here. A thorough onboarding process ensures you start off on the right foot while ongoing training and professional development opportunities help keep your edge by providing the opportunity to develop new skills and certifications. Our clients are fantastic with a diversity of engaging project opportunities. You’re supplied with the latest technology that’s regularly refreshed along with great IT support to maximize uptime. The compensation is top of the market and the benefits are fantastic – no cost insurance for employees, 100% 401k match, quarterly bonuses, and 5 weeks of vacation (including a 2 week shutdown over the holidays). The annual trip for ALL employees is off the charts and is a great way to meet or reconnect with your colleagues from other cities, relax and have fun (plus you’re able to bring a guest)! In a firm that’s geographically dispersed, communication is critical. Regular all-employee calls ensures no one is on an island and everyone’s kept in the loop. The people are awesome and everyone contributes in a meaningful way to continually improve the firm. The Principals, Managers and Seniors in Service Delivery are top notch. The Graphics Designers, Business Development and Report Writing experts ensure we’re putting our best foot forward. IT, Training, Recruiting and Legal pave the way to ensure we have the tools and talent to do the job. HR and the rest of the Operations team are incredibly talented in helping support everyone in the field while the firm grows and thrives. All of this helps create the culture of the firm. The culture works and feels right. This is a no drama, get it done environment stacked with professionals. The tenure and minimal turnover validates how attractive and enriching the culture is.

Cons

Geographic diversity of both clients and employees often equates to regular travel. Those in larger metro areas with client concentration may not be impacted as much. For those who embrace travel, the opportunity exists to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.

Pros

Schellman & CO (formally Brightline) is literally the best place to work if you have a few years of IT audit / IT assessment experience. They will pay you better than anywhere else and you will be able to do much more and learn more than anywhere else at the senior level. The benefits are the best in class and you get to work remote when not travelling. The people at Schellman are all top performers, because you have to be to handle the level of work you get. You cannot sit around during a job, but have to be hitting it hard every minute you can. Otherwise you will really fall behind. There is no time reporting so you don't have to worry about that, they just put you somewhere for a week or two and you have to get the work done during those weeks. You get a ton of travel money (especially if you travel internationally) and 150 dollar tech credit each month. They do ISO 27001, HITRUST/HIPPA, PCI, SOC 1 & 2, NIST, and FedRAMP assessments. you could get exposure to all of these if you want, and you are able to work for really great clients (some of the best out there). They are always winning work so there is not a horrible push by upper management to sell work, even at the manager level. They sell work because they are the best of the best and clients know that. If you want to work hard and be compensated hard this is the place. If you are a top performer but your companies managed keeps screwing you every year on reviews and bonuses, this is the place. Because they will respect and compensate you. You are left to do your work with very little oversight (you just have to make sure you get it done).

Cons

You work a lot, but the compensation makes up for that. They are flexible when you need them to be, or if you have something going on. You travel a lot (not all practices travel the same but ISO travels a lot!). Sometime there might not be a great promotion path if the need isn't there (but the Big 4 are the same).
