Pros
Great place to work, whether you’re just starting out or have been in industry for a while. The firm is know for its dam and tunneling work primarily. Family like atmosphere with some of the best/most intelligent professionals in the industry, with people who truly care about you and your success. Generally a good work life balance with opportunities to travel if you’re into that. We’re also given exposure to many different types of projects/work to expand our skill set (both on the computer and in-field). Lots of expansion in the past couple years (out west and in Texas).
Cons
Some of the offices seem to “compete” with eachother, I.e. certain offices will have more money and opportunities over others. Most of the entry level professional employees are “exempt”, meaning we receive straight time compensation for hours worked over 40, but typically we’re guaranteed 40 hours a week; something I haven’t seen before. This can be a good or bad thing based on how you see it (don’t get paid time and a half, but you’re still getting a “base” salary with the ability to make extra).

Pros
Non sedentary career, but not overly labor intensive. Learning opportunities ( Certifications, Engineering/ Construction exposure). Variability in projects. ( Damns, roads, buildings, etc..). Networking opportunities within engineering and construction industry.
Cons
Inconsistent schedule ( Variable hour/ unreliable hours, lack of flexibility) Mediocre pay and raises. ( Slow and limited growth opportunities, Lack of clear career path). Meager culture of support company wide. ( Lack of mentorship opportunities, poor management and training structure, cross departmental communication issues )
