The best thing I can say about SNI, is you are able to craft your own schedule, work-life. That's why I joined them as a Co. driver first out of trucking school, bc 1) they would take-on a new driver and 2) they would allow part-time. Extending that to being an Owner Operator, I can also determine "how much I want to work", and it's totally up to me, they don't hassle me about working to their demands, and generally, I'd never hear from them, unless I needed to complete some paper-work and/or do some compliance work. But that aside, you are a big # as you are at most giant American conglomerates; For them, you are there to enrich the Schneider family, one of the wealthiest families in America. This is no longer the 1935 Al Schneider created Co, then handed-down are ran by his son, Don. No, this entity became a public company in 2017, and now everyone "works for the invisible man", most hate their job, bc they are only there to make $$$, and the heart-and-soul of the Co. has vanished as the 1% of uber-wealth in America had enriched themselves beyond any decency God ever intended. And believe you me, as soon as they figure-out automation, is as soon as they get to slough-off the driver, and not have to worry with "people" and "all that". That's what we are allowing this Corporate world to come-to, "if we do".
Continuing on the plus side, they don't hassle you, and they are very good on safety and by-and-large, their staff from HQ-one-down, are professional and generally sympathetic to driver needs/concerns. Still, they are a resource-rich Co, and they can-and-do provide the driver with all the things he/she needs for "trucking success".
Furthermore, they have a great network of Operation Centers, strategically located all-over the country, that give the driver a "safe-house" off the road, where one can rest and relax, often with showers, wifi, vending, some have cafeteria's, mechanic shops for repair/maintenance needs, and a plethora of other goodies that one may need out on the road. These are invaluable locales if you are OTR.
Another good thing about SNI, is they calculate pay accurately and promptly. You never have to beg or wonder if you'll get your pay---you do, and they pay-out consistently, weekly.
They got really good insurance rates, speaking from the truck-side of things. As a company driver, their health insurance is good too.
Finally, they have beaucoup of freight to work. You are NEVER left stranded, waiting on a load. Plus, they are nationwide, so you can run most states in the country, although sometimes it can be hard to find a load "out West", but once you do, you can work the West Coast as much as you want, bc they run up-and-down I-5 from top to bottom, with a smattering of Arizona, Co., Utah, Nevada, and a few other western states.
All-in-all, in a very tough profession, SNI is good and a very solid, well-capitalized Co. The worst about them, is "the way of our world now" where we've let the uber-rich seize control of our lives to such a degree, that we are no longer a part of a whole, but rather merely a "dime making them a dollar", and that's dehumanizing, soul-killing and not unique to SNI, but with so many mega-Corps the world-over now.
