Thanks for the review. It's great to hear that you enjoy the independence and non-stressful nature of truck driving. We've made big updates to pay in that last couple of years and will continue to evaluate it on a weekly basis to make sure it's competitive. Take care and drive safe.

Pros

Very safety conscious. They seem to try hard for you to make it most of the time.

Cons

Random people in the office can be arrogant. If your an independent contractor, you won't find good loads going south if you live there. Stay out of the west, or you won't get money for a month. The loadboard is empty so much! Even if there was loads, they pick up or deliver just outside your window, then you're without a load. The only way to put a good week together is to find loads while you drive. When they cancel a load on you, I suspect it's to give that load to a company driver instead.

Pros

Training offered for new drivers

Cons

Schneider misleads employees about benefits on a regular basis. The 401k program is typical. Company matching does not vest for years after. Leaving the company after a year employment forfeits the company matching funds. No where is this ever described in the company literature. Per diem is another misrepresented program. The company benefits from not paying social security on a portion of a drivers income. They then add a administrative fee to the drivers cost. Driver losses retirement benefits, pays the company an administration fee, and losses other financial benefits. These are just two examples of the many tactics Schneider uses to reduce drivers pay and benefits.
