Pros

Being a teammember of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union (or as I still call it OCTFCU prior to the name change) is truly an honor. The organization is suppotive of personal development and career advancement, offers competitive salaries and has a wonderful benefits package that is far superior to other companies, offers superb training, has a true focus on Member service and advocacy, and has a great team environment. One of the best reasons to work for SchoolsFirst, besides those I have mentioned, is that we are Family. All across deparments and branches we are One Team, and it truly shows in what we do, and we always have our Member's (i.e. our families) best interests at heart.

Cons

Since we do have many seasoned and dedicated teammembers they of course tend to stay at the Credit Union, which at times can make it hard for career advancement into senior levels and management areas. However, the leadership team and senior management is very competitent and is very dedicated to what they do and that also shows in how the organization is run and in the stability and solvency of our Credit Union.

Pros

Fully Paid Benefits, Exceptionally good work environment compared to other financial institutions, great people to work with and excellent communication between all levels. Lot's of room for career movement if you don't like what you are currently doing, supportive work environment and a good place to make a career if that is your interest.

Cons

Salary is not always negotiable, the further up you move the hard it is as there are not as many opportunities since people do not leave the company very often. Pay is not always based fairly on performance, some start at a higher pay initially which may take an great performer years to reach the same level, where they may be doing an average job and still making more.
