Pros

There is a nice building to work out of in Chicago. The work hours are sane. The projects can sometimes have interesting licenses. The games are using the latest technology and hardware has very nice specs.

Cons

This company has A LOT of middle management. There is lots of time burned in endless weekly meetings, some of them necessary, most of them not. Any software changes to shared tech has endless amounts of red tape to cut through. The red tape is to the detriment of the shared tech itself, since the process is so convoluted. Currently a culture war between the acquired companies' Bally / WMS of how to do things.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Although you did not have the experience we would have hoped you would have had, we are glad to hear there were some positive aspects during your time with SG.

Pros

I honestly feel working for this company is fun and an overall great experience. The people I work with are great and make the 8 hour shifts easy.

Cons

The head management seem like great people at first. However they ask you questions about your life that will inevitably affect whether they hire you or if you remain employed there. The bosses get paid bonuses for keeping your payroll low which is sad to know. I honestly wouldn't mind that too much if they didn't make it so obvious. For a company that makes it money on the backs of gamblers, it is also sad to see how they would nickel and dime it's very employee's that keep that income coming in. So you have a CEO who hoards most of the revenue, which trickles down to the Managers who also hoard what's allotted for each site, and then the Field Techs and Supervisors get scraps. I wish this comoany would pay fairly without us having to beg. Lottery is not going anywhere and neither are the gamblers...yet the CEO looks like is more concerned about year over year profits than he is with the livelihood of his hard working employees. For a company that has "Core Values" on the back of every ID, and a motto that states "One mission, one team..." I persoonally don't feel like their can every be a team when only a select few get trophies when we are winning.

Pros

Job security is very high

Cons

The pay rates are God awful MICRO MANAGEMENT BEYOND BELIEF Terrible pay raises. Average is 2.5% hourly rate. This year is only going to be 1% to pretty ,Uchiha everyone. However, management is well taken care of. Various OSHA regulation violations Hostile work environment Terrible hiring process (pretty much just have to apply) Short training period Management never leads by example Favoritism is huge here Management takes credit for others work and problem solving with zero recognition of employee that shares their knowledge. Starting pay is well below entry level averages Hires individuals with zero knowledge or experience and in one case learning disabled (not that it is a problem, unless they drive a company issued vehicle) Very little room for advancement
